Dr. David Qualls joined River City Veterinary Hospital in 2019.
He is a graduate of the University of Florida where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees. A lifelong resident of Florida, he has been practicing in northeast Florida since 1981 and currently resides in Jacksonville with his wife, Selene, and their family.
Dr. Qualls has been involved in raising and showing A.K.C. registered Siberian Huskies since 1972. He has bred and shown over 150 A.K.C. Champions, ten Best in Show Winners, and a Siberian Husky Club of America National Specialty Best of Breed Winner. In addition to being one of the most accomplished Breeder/Owner/Handlers involved with the breed, Dr. Qualls has been an A.K.C.-approved Judge for Siberian Huskies for the past 25 years. He has judged dog shows in the U.S., Canada, Argentina, Italy, and Japan. His experience raising dogs for the past 45 years has proven to be a valuable asset not only in treating his patients, understanding their behavior, growth, and nutritional needs but also in being able to pass practical experience gained with his own pets on to his Clients.
He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Florida Veterinary Medical Association (FVMA) and Jacksonville Veterinary Medical Society (JVMS) and has special interests in dermatology, ophthalmology, laser surgery, behavior and pet nutrition.
